Appointments

We have a number of Routine and Urgent slots available for all clinicians (GPs, Nurses, ANP/ACPs, Clinical Pharmacists) – please see below for further information on how to book into these appointments.

Our Contracted Hours are between 8am and 6:30pm. The Practice is closed for lunch between 12:30 and 1:30. Please be aware that over lunch times or at the end of the working day, a clinician may not always be present on site due to patient Home Visits.

Please note: We do not offer walk-in appointments.

Urgent appointments

We will always deal with urgent cases quickly as possible. Please advise reception if you are requesting a same day appointment. The GPs have requested that the Reception team ask for a brief indication of why you require a same day appointment so that they can ensure you receive the appropriate care for your issue. Reception staff will make a same day appointment on your behalf and advise you when to attend the clinic. If an appointment slot is not available, the on-call GP will ring you back and ask you some more questions in order to allocate you to the right practitioner at the appropriate time.

For any suspected life-threatening emergencies (i.e. severe bleeding, serious injury, suspected heart attack or stroke, severe shortness of breath, sepsis or asthma attack) – please ring 999 immediately.

For Mental Health crisis’, please call 111 and select Option 2.

Routine appointments

The receptionist will ask you for a brief indication of the problem for any appointment – they have been instructed to do this via the clinicians so that they can signpost you to the most appropriate service for your issue.

You can book an appointment with a doctor – Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 17:00.  Appointments with the doctor are for 1 problem only, if you have additional problems then you will require to make a longer appointment or an additional appointment.

At all times you should indicate the degree of urgency. It is expected that patients attend for appointments in good time. If you are unable to keep your appointment please inform reception as soon as possible or cancel via the app.

Patients can express a preference of doctor and every effort will be made to allow patients to see their preferred doctor, although this may not be possible in urgent appointments.

Opportunistic health checks will be made when appropriate to ensure the best health care is provided.

E-Consult

To ensure the best, safe care for you and your family, the practice accepts non-urgent/routine online consultation requests or queries during opening hours. You can submit your request here

Home visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 11:00.

Home visits are eligible for the very elderly and those who are classed as clinically housebound. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. You will be placed on our home visit list, and a GP will contact you to triage prior to visiting.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse or paramedic if you are referred by your GP.

You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Online Access

We do not allow for appointment booking online. However, you can view your upcoming appointment via the app and can also cancel if required.
