YOUNG PEOPLES PAGE
12 TO 25
This page is especially for young people aged between 12 and 25.
We hope this page helps you to understand how to access advice and healthcare about anything you may be worried about.
How do I get help or advice?
- Make an appointment to see one of the Doctors or Nurses - you can bring a friend, or a parent / guardian, or you can come on your own.
Is the service confidential?
Even if you are under 16 you still have the same rights to confidentiality as anyone else.
Our Doctors and Nurses have to follow very strict rules on confidentiality and the law says we have to keep all patient records and information completely private.
In exceptional circumstances, for example when a doctor or nurse thinks you might be in serious danger, it might be necessary to pass information on but, even if we do, we will usually talk to you first before we tell anyone else. This applies to everyone, no matter what age you are.
At our practice we offer C - Cards to anyone between the age of 13-25.
This allows you to collect condoms from the surgery free of charge.
There is now a C Card app - please see our HCA Liz for information regarding this.
As well as condom issuing you can see our nurses for advice on other forms of contraception such as the pill and depo injection.
Dr Symon is also available to fit coils. Please book a consultation with Dr Symon if you are interested in this form of contraception.
